Privacy Policy
Friends of Lawrence Almagno (“the campaign,” “we,” “us”) is the campaign committee for Lawrence Almagno, candidate for Rhode Island State Representative, District 27. This policy explains what information we collect through our websites (lawrencealmagno.com, la4ri.com, almagno4ri.com, and votealmagno.com) and our email and text message programs, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
Information you give us
When you sign up, volunteer, or contact us through our website, we collect the information you enter: your name, email address, mobile number, zip code, any message you write, whether you want to volunteer, and which email and text message options you agree to.
Information collected automatically
When you submit a form, we record the date and time, the page you were on, your IP address, and your browser type. We keep this with your submission as a record of your consent choices.
Contributions
Online contributions are processed by Anedot on its own secure donation page. Card and bank details are handled by Anedot and its payment processors; the campaign does not receive or store them. We do receive the contributor information that Rhode Island campaign finance law requires, such as name, address, employer, occupation, and contribution amount. Anedot’s own privacy policy applies to information you enter on its pages.
How we use your information
- To send the campaign emails and text messages you have agreed to receive
- To respond to your questions and messages
- To organize volunteers and campaign events
- To keep the records and file the reports required by campaign finance and election law
- To protect our website and forms from spam and abuse
How we share your information
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only:
- With service providers that work on our behalf, such as website hosting, email delivery, and text message delivery, and only so they can provide those services to us
- When required by law. Rhode Island requires campaigns to report certain contributor information to the Board of Elections, and those reports are public.
- When needed to protect the rights, safety, or security of the campaign, our supporters, or others
The text messaging commitment at the top of this page applies in every case: mobile numbers and text opt-in information are never shared for anyone else’s marketing.
Your choices
- Email: Every campaign email includes an unsubscribe link.
- Text messages: Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving texts, or HELP for help. See our Terms of Service for full text message terms.
- Your information: To update or delete your information, use our contact form or email us. We may keep records that the law requires, such as contribution records, and a record of your opt-out so we can honor it.
Cookies and technical data
Our website does not use advertising or analytics cookies. It uses your browser’s temporary session storage only to remember if you closed the donation banner. The site is hosted by Cloudflare and loads fonts from Google Fonts; those providers process technical information, such as your IP address, to deliver the pages. Links to other websites, including Anedot and social media, are covered by those sites’ own policies.
Security and retention
We use reasonable safeguards to protect the information we collect, and we limit access to people who need it for campaign work. We keep information as long as it is needed for the purposes described here or as required by law.
Children
Our website is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page shows when it was last changed.
